Luncheon Recipes

Several have requested the recipes from our Lunch at the Women's Workshop. The Pulled Pork Salad was based on the Cafe Rio restaurant chain.

Most of the recipes for the sides were found here, but the Pulled Pork recipe is one that my Mom uses. It's really delicious.

EASY PULLED PORK

1/4 cup ketchup
2 TBSP  Worcestershire Sauce
1/3 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1 TBSP  Ground Mustard
1 TBSP Garlic Powder (I used 2 crushed cloves)
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 TBSP chili powder
pinch salt and pepper
1 Medium Onion chopped
3 Pounds of boneless pork shoulder - trim fat

Combine all the ingredients except for onion and pork into crock pot. Whisk all ingredients until well-blended. Place pork and onions into mixture coating both side of meat.  Cook for 8 to 10 hours on low.

Remove meat from slow cooker and break apart with fork. Mix back into the crock pot and turn to warm setting for serving.

This is a great make ahead meal. You can freeze it in any portion size (individual to family size) and use it in all sorts of ways! Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Salads, Wraps, etc!

Workshop Class Descriptions and Schedule

CLASSES:

1. Up Hold Your Marriage
Leslie Ann and Dave Packard are teaming up to teach a class on marriage. They will remind you how to have fun as a couple and give some great advice to all!

2. Up a Creak Without a Spoon
Are you tired of asking "What do you want for dinner"? Bored with the same old? Sheila Madsen will be sharing ideas with you on how to plan meals and even have some recipes to wake up your kitchen.

3. Uplift Yourself
Cheri Egbert will be teaching about making and taking the time for daily scripture study. We all know we should do it, but how and when do we fit it in?

4. Uproot the Kids
Disciplining children is not the easiest thing in the world. From tots to teens those stubborn attitudes often need to be uprooted. Jilene Wagner will be giving some advice on how to teach, love and discipline our children.
*Do you have any favorite books on raising children? Bring it along to the class, or just be prepared to share. If you won't be attending the class, but have some great books to share, please email Jilene (jilenew@gmail.com) with the name and author so she can share it with the class!

5. Turn It Upside Down
If chaos seems to have complete control in your house then maybe, like the frown, it's time to turn it upside down. A few organization tips taught by Garnet Kutterer and Linda Wagner might just be what you need to bring smiles back to your house.
